I went to this place on my trip to arizona seeing the good reviews and was not disappointed! Small little shack with great atmosphere and funny signs to read while you waited. Service was fast and attentive. All the food was amazing, there wasn't anything we had there that was bad. The highlight for me was the chicken fried steak, real nice and crispy on the outside, melted in your mouth and was perfectly seasoned. The eggs were also amazing, as the omelette they were thin light and fluffy and overeasy they were cooked to perfection and the yolk was rich with great flavor. The coffee and hot chocolate were excellent. The value for what we paid and what we got was also fantastic. If you're ever in Gallup and need a place for breakfast this is the place to go!

Well... I have to say this place is a little unassuming from the outside. In fact, we had some hesitation when we parked the car. However, as soon as we walked in we could tell this was going to be a very nice experience The interior is very quaint and decorated in what can best be described as historic Route 66 Diner. Very well decorated also. The staff is super friendly and service was over the top. We had breakfast here because our hotel complimentary breakfast was... Not so good. We were not disappointed in the food. I had an omelette and my wife had the French toast both of which were very delicious. Bottom line... You should definitely pop in here and enjoy some quaint atmosphere and very good food.

After driving across 5 states and eating breakfast daily, I finally found a truly wonderful New Mexico style breakfast at Sandra's. I had a breakfast burrito smothered with half red and half green chili, stuffed with ham, egg, potato, and cheese along with a side of pinto beans. It was exactly what I was looking for. I added a flour tortilla at the end to finish up the beans and leftover sauce and almost broke into tears because the homemade tortillas were like my dad used to make.I drive through Gallup 3 or 4 times a year and will be back every time I'm in town for sure.EDIT 2023: been back 2 more times and had the Huevos rancheros each time which was fantastic. It remains my number one restaurant in New Mexico. The food is wonderful and brings back so many memories.EDIT Summer 2024: got back again and had the enchiladas and eggs special. Fantastic.EDIT Winter 2024: Huevos Rancheros hit the spot on a cold New Mexico morning.

Was simply looking for a quick breakfast in Gallup before getting back on the road to Shiprock & Farmington. Definitely not an impressive looking building from the outside but pretty 'homey and mini-dinerish' on the inside. I found out later that the owner-operator was running the show inside the place and her name was of course, Sandra...To sum up things, the food was top-notch, servers were all good & personable, the place was clean, and half full of locals as far as I knew. I ordered the chorizo and eggs W/2 tortillas which was cooked to order. Superb meal and good value. Will stop here again...Bottom Line: 9.2 out of 10

Ignore the outside looks and enjoy the great breakfast and customer service!!Coming down route, 66 lots of businesses were closed. But this little hole in the wall place had killer reviews.... so we had to check it out ... and boy... we were not disappointed.!!It was super good! You know when you see big farm worker guys that need a hearty meal eating there... That you will get plenty of food! At the right price..Sandra was there.. her chef made us the best biscuits and gravy.. and chicken fried steak with eggs!! Yum!!I can.Not say enough about the server.Unfortunately I can't remember her name but she was a real hospitable personable person With a great sense of humor!
